Gyeongju 경주

Korea's "museum without walls" — capital of the Silla kingdom for a thousand years. Grass-covered royal tombs, UNESCO temples and palaces mirrored in still water at night, all in a flat, walkable core. Here's everything worth doing in your day and a half.

Your 1½ days, roughly

You arrive around noon on 6 July and have all of 7 July. You can't do everything — here's a relaxed way to fit the best of it. Treat it as a menu, not a timetable.

Mon 6 · PMSettle in, then the flat central loop on foot: Daereungwon tombs → Hwangnidan-gil for coffee & Gyeongju bread → Cheomseongdae & Wolseong Park.
Mon 6 · nightThe illuminated set: Woljeonggyo Bridge, then Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond mirrored in the dark. Dinner on Hwangnidan-gil.
Tue 7 · AMBus out early to Bulguksa Temple + Seokguram Grotto (half a day). Or, if it's dry and you fancy a climb, swap in Namsan.
Tue 7 · PMBack in town: Gyochon Village + a hanbok photo walk, or unwind at The-K hot springs / Bomun Lake. Last Hwangnidan-gil dinner before Busan.
Monsoon month — early July is jangma: warm (28–32 °C), humid, with short heavy downpours rather than all-day rain. Do outdoor sights early or late, duck into cafés, villages and hot springs when it pours, and lean into the sights that are best lit at night.
